The Lost Boys

Do you want to learn what things were inside King Tut’s tomb and who discovered it? The first thing I will tell you about is who discovered the tomb! If you are kind of bored just wait until I tell you what kind of riches and precious items are in the tomb! The last thing I will tell you is where all of King Tut’s things are and where King Tut is right now. Prepare to get your head blown away!

In November 1992 the archaeologist Howard Carter discovered something that the world has forgotten about. Carter was looking for an undisturbed tomb in Egypt. Carter has been wondering for 31 years working in Egypt that a tomb was forgotten. Everybody said that there wasn’t a tomb in the Valley of The Kings. On November 5, 1992 Carter went to go look for it. Carter had a crew that also believed that there was a tomb hidden. On that day they discovered a tomb covered up with sand. The crew thought that the tomb was not the one that they were looking for. They were all wrong, that tomb was the undisturbed tomb that they were looking for. On that day Howard Carter made the greatest discovery, King Tutankhamen’s tomb!

Inside the tomb were sculptures of King Tut, strange animals, and there was a lot of mist in the tomb. There was a lot of gold in there. On the floor were rubies, crystals,a faience cup, cache, and gold foil, and many other precious items. There was gold couches and gold chairs! On the side of the walls were broken chariots. Carter and his crew had to be very careful not to remove or break anything. Almost everything was fragile in the tomb. The walls were solid gold in the tomb except the burial chamber. The walls and ceilings in the burial chamber were yellow! The tomb had many different passages. There were jars filled with King Tut’s liver, lungs, stomach, and intestines. The greatest thing discovered in there was a coffin that was seven feet and four inches. It was King Tut’s coffin. It was covered with gold! It was an amazing discovery by Howard Carter!

Right now King Tut is in an exhibition in San Francisco. Egypt lent only a little bit of Tut’s things. Egypt wanted to keep some of Tut’s stuff because that is where it belongs. When Carter found the tomb people from all of the world wanted to come and take everything that was in there! The Egyptians didn’t let them. The Egyptians told them that it is wrong to take someone else’s stuff. Some people put back all of the stuff. That is why only a little bit of things can go out of King Tut’s tomb.
